Busy Times
I appreciate it has been a while since I last posted so just want to give everyone an update.
Firstly, it has been very busy with my day job, working late and weekends. This has left me with very little time for chocolate but I have still managed to fit in some activity.
Holiday in Norway
In July I enjoyed a cruise to the Norwegian Fjords. Plenty of walking meant I could indulge in lots of cinnamon buns. I also visited Fjåk Chocolate in Eidfjord and swapped some chocolate bars whilst touring their factory.
Chocolate Making and Challenges
Upon returning, I started making chocolate for a course in October, but the company went into liquidation. I was able to turn a batch of milk chocolate into bars but have two batches of dark chocolate to work with, hoping to make truffles for Christmas.
Workshops and Awards
Last week, I attended a truffle-making workshop with Mark Tilling at Sephra. This weekend, I’m preparing my submission for the Academy of Chocolate awards, aiming to add to my previous silver and two bronze awards. Check out the feature on their Instagram page.
Market Challenges
The chocolate world has been chaotic, with cocoa prices doubling. I’m trying to hold my prices despite the high costs, which is challenging for small craft chocolatiers.
Shop Updates
I’ve updated stock levels in the Shop and plan to restock products ahead of Christmas. Don’t see what you want, let me know as I will always consider adding new products.
